1. Who we are
Valuation Index carries out desktop and inspection valuations. We decide how your personal data is used. We are responsible for it under UK data protection law.
2. What we collect
When you order a valuation or ask for a quote, we collect your name, email address and phone number. We also collect the property’s address and details, what the valuation is for and your answers to our questions. We note which page you sent it from. If an advert brought you to us, we also note its campaign tags.
3. How we use it
We use your details to prepare your quote or valuation and to contact you about it. We also keep the records we need as a RICS-regulated firm.
4. Photos and documents you upload
Photos and documents you upload for a desktop valuation, such as a floorplan or a survey, are used only to prepare your report. They are stored securely and deleted when we no longer need them. While you fill in your property details, your answers are kept in your browser on that device, so you can finish later. We clear them once you send them.
5. Payments
Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Stripe handles them under its own privacy policy.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as we need it for these reasons, or as long as the law or our professional rules require.
9. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email us and we will reply within one month.
10. Contact and complaints
Email info@valuationindex.co.uk with any question. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
